The low pain of electricity flowing through his nerves did indeed cause Kakashi's hand to twitch, and in that time, he found himself unarmed, bound and pressed against cool concrete. A ache crept through his back from the impact, but that could be ignored. Kakashi remained a ninja even in insanity, had those qualities reinforced time and again until they became instinct. So even bound he looked away, not meeting Itachi's eyes that could so easily hypnotize him. Gai had told him the secret of fighting Itachi, and in the corners of his vision he could make out the man's form, target his stomach.
"So I was to be your tool?" The answer seemed so obvious as Kakashi spoke it, but the conversation was also meant as distraction. Kakashi knew the kick he threw would do little damage; his position hardly gave him leeway to add the necessary force. Yet it would be enough if it landed, and so Itachi would be forced to react. Block, in which case Kakashi would follow with a second strike, or preferably, dodge. The jounin needed time, after all, to undo the binding which held his arms in place, to free his hands to perform seals and make Itachi truly fight.
"For Sasuke." Kakashi refused to be manipulated so easily, to give in to Itachi's manipulations. He had to finish it, to finally end things now, while the situation and the strength of those around him remained enough for them to persevere. Before it faltered, and one of those precious people came to him with need in his eyes, begging Sensei for the right words to give them meaningless hope. "I've already failed you, Itachi. Naruto will be the one to save him, and we both know that. I can't do anything else for them."
